Revelop directors Anthony El-Hazouri and Charbel Hazzouri will transform the Renmark Square in the coming months, with new tenants movinginto the centre and the installation of carpark shade sails.

NEW shade sails, retail outlets and signage are all a part of the new Renmark Square owner’s plans for the Riverland shopping complex. The Renmark Square shopping centre – formerly owned by Charter Hall Retail – was officially handed over to Sydney-based property group Revelop on Thursday after the purchase was announced late last year.
Revelop directors Anthony El-Hazouri and Charbel Hazzouri spent last week in the Riverland, speaking to Renmark Square tenants and making plans for the centre’s future. Mr El-Hazouri said a number of changes had already been made, and in the coming months new tenants would be welcomed to the centre. Women’s clothing retailer Noni B moved into an empty shop front on Friday, with the outlet set to open on July 1, while other tenants are expected to relocate within the
centre. “We have ordered shade sails and work will begin sometime (this month),” Mr El-Hazouri said. “Currently the signage is a bit lacklustre on the building, so that’s all in the process of being overhauled.” The shade sails will provide cover for about 220 of the 560 carpark spaces at Renmark Square.

Revelop’s Renmark Square purchase – worth about $25 million – is the property group’s first venture into South Australia, with the group owning assets in Queensland and New South Wales. “We are quite excited to bring a bit of a breath of fresh air into this place,” Mr El-Hazouri said. “It is a beautiful place, but it has been missing some key tenants and services.” Mr El-Hazouri said the centre’s lighting would be overhauled and some of the items in the centre of the mall would be transformed “to make the area a little bit more cohesive”. Renmark Square could welcome a number of new tenants in the coming months, with Revelop searching for a fruit and vegetable shop, men’s fashion retailers, food outlets
and beauty operators to take up residence in the complex.
